BioTECH@ Richmond Heights 9-12 High School provides students with a challenging and advanced level math and science curriculum focused on Conservation Biology that exposes them to rigorous coursework including Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment, as well as research opportunities with practicing scientists in state-of-the-art laboratories. In classes taken on site at Zoo Miami, students will study the human impact on biological diversity. Research experiences will be offered in collaboration with both Zoo Miami and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (FTBG). The entire school will be thematically tied to STEM, research methodology, and applications in the area of innovative, high impact environmental science research.
WHERE IS BIOTECH?
|BioTECH's Richmond Campus, our main campus and administrative offices, are located off 102 Avenue and 150 Terrace.|
|The BioTECH Research Station, our second campus, is located inside of Zoo Miami featuring 13 state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms, and computer labs.|
|The Science Village @ Fairchild, our third campus, is located inside of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden featuring an advanced tissue culture lab, DNA lab, and digital microscopy lab.|
WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT BIOTECH?
BioTECH@ Richmond Heights 9-12 High School boasts the latest in instructional technologies including stand-alone desktop computers, laptop computers, 1:1 tablet computers, wireless campus at all three sites, GPS Receivers, state-of-the-art learning labs including wireless digital sensors and probes for thescience labs, touch-enabled LCD projectors, classroom audio systems, and so much more. BioTECH has partnered with Discovery Education to provide and deliver high-impact, innovative, and technology-infusedlessons. BioTECH has also partnered with Buck Institute for Education to deliver engaging content using Project-Based Learning (PBL) strategies in which students gainknowledge and skills by inquiring, investigating, and responding to complex questions, problems, and challenges.
